If you have been following my Chaos Pen Challenges over on my sister’s blog the Writing Hallow, then you are familiar with the artwork and artist of this card on DeviantArt. And yes, you can still purchase this amazing Tarot deck from this online store.
One of the beauties of Tarot is that it allows the artist of the card to tell a story. In fact the Major Arcana and each suit within the Minor Arcana tell a story of their own. A good artist that understands the Tarot will draw upon that and will not only tell the story of each card but also the grander story arc as well. This is what I look for when buying Tarot decks. If I’m going to spend money on your work then you had better know what you’re doing and go the extra mile and pull it all together.
In retrospect the same holds true for us as writers when we use symbolism and themes. We can’t just throw them in there willy-nilly and call it good. It needs to hold and resonate throughout the entire piece of work.

So take a look at these three cards and compare them to the first one I presented. How are they the same? How are they different? What do they say to you?
Take your time. Let them “speak” to your soul and mind.
Feel free to click on each one to visit their page on DeviantArt to see a larger image and read what the artist had to say about it.

What This Card Means to Me
Life seldom ever goes exactly as planned but it has this odd way of working itself out in the long run. There comes a point where you just have to take that blind leap of faith or just simply dive into that unknown and find out what’s there and what you’re made of. If you don’t you remain stuck where you’re at and nothing changes. So in a reading you need to ask yourself are you running blind like an idiot or do you need to actually take that leap? How much faith do you have in life to work itself out in the grand scheme of things? Sometimes you just have to let go to get somewhere.
Think of it like a wet bar of soap: if you squeeze too hard it’s either going to get squished or pop out of your hand at flying speeds. You need to hold it gently and trust that it will stay in your hand. Sure sometimes you’ll drop it but you can always pick it back up. It’s not the end of the world.
Starting something new or making changes in our lives is scary as hell and we tend to want to control every little thing. The Fool reminds us that not only we can’t, but we that shouldn’t. I suppose this is why I call my personal blog “The Art of Chaos” because I’m constantly trying to remind myself of this and trying to embrace this concept in my life. It feels like a mistake to let go of this control, but there is freedom in it. It allows for flexibility and growth to happen.

The Writing Prompt
Now as a writer with everything we’ve gone over with this card what comes to mind? Start writing! Doesn’t matter what it is. Stretch your mind and let The Fool speak to you.
I would love it if you linked or pinged back what you wrote so I could see where you went with this.
Happy writing!
