Here is the next installment in my own Tarot design project over on DeviantArt using the Miku Miku Moving program. Please let me know what you think!
Not to worry, I’ll continue to feature the series I started with in the links below.
Today we’re featuring and exploring the Three of Swords, the third card of the Sword Suit in the Minor Arcana.
Additional Card Images
- Card Version 1
- Card Version 2 – incidentally, this deck is now available for purchase as well
- Card Version 3
- Card Version 4
So take a look at these four cards on DeviantArt and compare them to the first one I presented. How are they the same? How are they different? What do they say to you?
Take your time. Let them “speak” to your soul and mind.

What This Card Means to Me
Growing up as a Latter-Day Saint (Mormon), one of the things I heard quoted most often was, “Hell is knowing the truth too late.” I don’t know who said it first, but in my experience it is the truest sentiment I’ve ever come across. I feel this card represents that. We go through a lot of pain when we’re blindsided by the truth – whether it’s a result of our actions or the result of others.
And it wasn’t until I made this card and the Two of Swords that I found myself wondering how much of this pain can be avoided if we’re just willing to face the truth earlier. We don’t have a chance to do anything about it if we refuse to see it.
The Music Playlist
In the spirit of all this, these are the songs picked out thus far for this card.
Do you have any songs you think should be on this list? Suggest them in the comments!
The Writing Prompt
Now as a writer with everything we’ve gone over with this card what comes to mind? Start writing! Doesn’t matter what it is. Stretch your mind and let The Three of Swords speak to you.
I would love it if you linked or pinged back what you wrote so I could see where you went with this.
