I swear I do check my feedback mailbox regularly. And it wasn’t until today that I saw that someone messaged me on the 2nd of this month commenting that my avatar pic looks like a mandragora from Final Fantasy XI.
As a matter of fact it IS a mandragora and I DO play Final Fantasy XI when ever I can truth be told. However, this particular mandy is from the game, Chocobo Dungeon.
I picked up the Final Fantasy franchise with #6 but it was #7 that won my heart and I’ve been playing #11 on the PC since the North American release. My oldest son was cutting his teeth the first day I ventured out in North Gustaberg. @_@ He’s 15 now so that makes me feel terribly old. I don’t play it as often as I used to and no where near as much as I would like, but I still have my Tarutaru Beastmaster, Toadie.

I am so glad that you got it. My boyfriend has played final fantasy since the beginning. We played FFXI for five or six years and are still great friends with many of the people we met. We play final fantasy Xiv now, but it does not compare to FFXI. I remember the first time his character ran through ronfaure and I realized that the other characters running around were people playing on their own consoles. It was surreal. I have tons of game memories I’ll never forget. Your avatar is taking me back.

My character for FFXI in a weird sort of way became a family member to my boys. They know he isn’t a real person but Toadie is a household name just the same and when they were little they would run up to me and ask me to make him wave to them. lol It does bring back tons of memories. It’s hard to believe the game has been around so long. My oldest son is 15 now and he was just cutting his first teeth when I started playing. I still play when I can. I’m hoping to eventually complete all of the story for all of the expansions. @_@ It will be a very sad day for all of us when the servers shut down if it ever comes to that. If they do a special final event I plan to be on for it. One last hoorah.
And yes, I do have a FFXIV as well and I agree that it’s just not the same.
